RecommendAnother Beastie Boys greatest hits? Capitol Records deemed Solid Gold Hits as necessary. If you have Sounds of Science than there really is no need for this unless you are feeling that there was too much "filler" on that double disc comp. Solid Gold Hits takes you straight to the meat and potatoes. The 15 tracks will have you singing and grooving along. Every time I listen to ANY Beastie Boys material I'm always wondering why I don't do it more. These white boys know how to rock a beat and rhyme a lyric. The songs don't go chronologically but they do flow really nice. Starting with "So What'cha Want" and ending with "Fight For Your Right". A couple of not-so-popular tracks like "Triple Trouble" and "An Open Letter To NYC" made the cut but they are quality tracks. Of course its not as comprehensive as the previous comp but it delivers the heavy hitters. A good album for casual fans.
