Acid Mother’s Temple’s Makoto Kawabata must appear on about 100 records a month. To date, that hasn’t meant a watering down of his amazing vision. Once again, he teams up with High Rise bassist Asahito Nanjo and Ruins drummer Tatsuya Yoshida for another installment of free-form fusion and six string holocaust. The ten tracks here spin out with amazing energy and yet retain their focus amidst the mayhem. Creating a sound somewhere between early 70's Zappa and a plane crashing right through your living room, Musica Transonic assault the ears and wash away all that is wrong in the world. Fans of Acid Mothers, new fans at least, may be put off by the craziness here; Ruins and High Rise fans expect nothing less. This is fusion that blows away most bands daring to use the name, and gives the guitar the workout hoped for but never delivered by metal types.
