Knucklehead is a punk band that has been kicking around the Calgary scene since 1994. Nobody predicted that they would still be around a decade later but they show no signs of slowing down. In fact, Knucklehead has toured across North America multiple times, gaining a legion of fans in the process. They try and put some sort of release out ever year and they play at lease 50 shows a year. Pretty good for a band that doesn’t have much support from a label. I’m really surprised that some label a little more prominent hasn’t scooped them up. They have as much power and charisma as a lot of bands on Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords. The songs on Hostage Radio could have had a bit better production job on them but the quality of songwriting is still there. They have that tip of the hat to old school punk but they are looking forward and keep things interesting. Knucklehead has the sing-along choruses that fans just eat up. Hostage Radio is a must for any punk fan. Seek it out. Oh yeah, there is also a video included for “Plight of the Living Dead.
