I missed out on A Static Lullaby's sophomore effort Faso Latido but by the sounds of this self-titled album they must have grown tremendously. They kind of encompass that screamo/post-hardcore sound to a tee. They have the melody and massively catchy guitar riffs that make each song an anthem in their own right. We have the screaming vocals and we have Joe's great singing voice as well. This is a very strong album and one of the better bands going in the post-hardcore realm. One of my favorite tracks on this outing is the closing "Mechanical Heart" which has some of the most impressive singing vocals I have heard from A Static Lullaby. There is still a hard edge to the song though but the melody is right out front. This seems like the main focus of the album, no filler. And the band succeeds and should be praised for that. There is a lot of diversity here as well. So while I've skipped right over chapter two of the A Static Lullaby story, chapter three is an improvement over And Don't Forget To Breath. Check it out if you are interested in the post-hardcore scene. It should be interesting to see where the genre goes from here. I think it's all been done now but we'll see.

Great pick up from 'Faso Latido' which was a stunning disappointment. They go back to their '...And Don't Forget To Breathe' roots. From post hardcore, to terrible pop rock, back to post hardcore. I was glad to hear this album and see that they went back to the hardcore roots which is where the rightfully belong. They switched their line-up quite a bit, which joined two additional vocals not including the original lead singer. The new guitar player and bass player add a lot of new style of ASL, which made them make a little bit of a turn in their genre. The turn was definitely a good thing. The transition from ADFTB to the self-titled is a great transition. I suggest this album to fans of their first release.
