If you like your indie rock / punk rock chaotic and yet emotional then you need to check out Lovesick. Ann Arbor, Michigan’s Lovesick has been around for a while gaining a broader and broader audience with their bursts of off key singing and controlled guitar blasts. Their rhythms are fast and furious while their melodies are there keeping the listener glued to their every sound. Upon first listen I was just annoyed with Lovesick but I persevered and went at it a second time. There is charm to this band once you peel back the layers and look at the workings of the band. The vocals are all over the place but very consistent once you realize what they are trying to do here. There are only 9 songs on Lovesick’s self titled album and they are over way too fast (25 minutes to be exact). Of course there are things that Lovesick could have done better like the recording quality on here but all in all this is a very impressive album. Seek it out.
