I don't know why acid jazz or downtempo music such as Moloko never made it huge. Music like this has so much soul and life that it reaches out to everyone. Oh, and it's funky and cool. I recently discovered Moloko's lead vocalist, Roisin Murphy's solo career and thought about Do You Like My Tight Sweater so I reached for it on my music shelf and revisited it. It is just as "tight" as it was back in 1995 and just as relevant and easily fits into today's music. If an album stands up 10 years and it is still relevant to me it makes for a classic album. So even wacky tracks like "Party Weirdo" might seem dated on the surface, throw them against a Gwen Stefani track and you'll see who comes out the clear winner, Moloko. Moloko maintains quite a high profile in Europe but they remain underground even to this day in North America. Do You Like My Tight Sweater is fun, future soul album that can bring life to your dead party. The tracks are fun but not overbearing when it comes to the beats.
