Madcap has enough street smarts to go all the way. Their debut album, Stand Your Ground, was a big hit in the punk world and they enjoyed success at the Warped Tour and also touring with the Bouncing Souls and Flogging Molly. East To West is the second effort and it’s even bigger than their debut. Madcap is a band with old school beliefs and sounds and do it better than the old school cats. Think of Rancid and the energy you get out of their albums and you start to understand what Madcap is all about. They are a strong punk band that have all the punk rock attitude and all the guts and glory to be a force to be reckoned with. They’re not afraid to slow down a bit and show a little more harmony like on “Midnight Thoughts. But in the same breath, they get going pretty damn fast too. Madcap is about good fun attitude in punk and they don’t seem to have political stances like a lot of punks. Madcap is a band that I predict will be around for another 10 years at least. This is a good thing.
