When two fairly popular Tallahassee, FL bands decided to merge both of the bands (Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment) fans followed them and Mayday Parade was pretty much a success from day one. The guys managed to see 10,000 eps using grassroots marketing with MySpace and such and before long the influential Fearless Records was knocking on the door wanting a piece of the action. Tales Told By Dead Friends will be the introduction to the band for most people and it showcases a melodic emo/punk/pop band that should have a lot of legs. There is a lot of potential here even if they haven't completely executed on this EP. Hell, this is their first attempt. I think we will see some great things from Mayday Parade. They are all top notch tracks on here except for the last one "The Last Something That Meant Anything". I loved "Your Song" and "When I Get Home, You're So Dead". The other ones just seemed a little over the top for me. Very emo-ish.
