The Neckers are the latest addition to the blossoming Calgary music scene and show with their debut album that they aren't just good on stage. In A Whole Mess O' Trouble has a bit of a retro-punk sound to it in which The Neckers fuse a rockabilly sound with a more now punk feel. They rock out like they have been doing it for much longer than they really have. The riffs are simple but huge and the vocals are very well executed. They whip through the 8 songs on here without any hesitation and you are left shaking your head in awe. The Neckers bring back an innocent style of punk that just rocks hard. The cover artwork is amazing too, done by Tim Huesken, the same guy who did all the artwork on MusicEmissions. The recording was done by Calgary's own Cam Hayden (Cripple Creek Fairies). The Neckers debut is a true local effort that stands up against the best of the breed out there right now.
