RecommendLove Equals Death formed on halloween night in 2003 around San Francisco....That right there should give you an idea of what this band is like.While they are classified as melodic punk, they are just as much horror punk. The band describes their music as “a raw sound that twists all the best elements of both classic and modern sounds into something entirely new”, but I think it sounds like a punk rock hybrid of Billy Idol and AFI. No need to argue, because Nightmerica is a diverse debut that draws as much from Duran Duran as it does “Horror Punk” bands like the Misfits and the Damned. The album is a solid release, with varying songs and intelligent lyrics. Singer Chon Travis's voice very much reminds me of Lajon from sevendust. So if you are a fan of horror punk, or just plain dark music then pick this up.
