On "In Love And Death", The Used seemed to begin their descent into that void between honest-injun songwriting and direction and pop-sensible influences...and the results really leave a bad taste in my mouth. This bad grew up far too fast and missed a vital part of their evolution. From underground sensations to mainstream darlings, and all it took was the success of one album? Shades of that rushing-through can be found all over this album. Certain songs, like the single "All That I've Got", and personal favorite "I Caught Fire" stand out, but overall this one fails to deliver on the promise of their debut. I still haven't heard their newest release, and I hope they haven't continued in this contrived, MCR-ish direction.

The Used put out their first single and track off of this album, Take It Away, onto the television signals to let the world hear where they had been for the two years they were away. The second single they had off the album was All That I've Got, which is a great song which is kind of softer than some of the other songs, but sounds amazing. Their third single, I Caught Fire, was a good song as well. The album was okay, but not as great as the first album. But thats okay, it's hard to live up to an amazing first album. You might like this album if you liked the first one, and even if you didnt like the first one, i suggest picking this up.
