Rumors and Headlines is not the first album for One Man Army. In fact, it’s their third. It sort of marks a new beginning for the band seeing that they have been picked up by BYO. Their first two albums were on Billy Joe Armstrong’s Adeline label. They have even put out a single on Fat Wreck Chords. They have a bit of an “Oi sound to them along the lines of Dropkick Murphys singalong choruses. On tracks like “Casualty they have almost a soccer cheer chorus going on. The band uses a bit of an old style punk sound as well as some hooks a melodies that have come out in the last few years. These 12 songs were over before I even got a chance to get into them but upon about the third listen, I found myself humming along to their great melodies. Their songs really are sing-along punk songs that would be fun to see sung live. Watch for One Man Army on tour this fall. Should be a show to see.
