RecommendThis girl punk EP is very refreshing in the Canadian punk scene. Operation Makeout come to us from Vancouver, British Columbia, home also to their Mint Record label. The band is a trio consisting of Katie on guitar and vocals, Jesse (formerly of d.b.s.) on bass and vocals, and Anna plays the drums. Operation Makeout is very energetic and enjoyable with their brand of punk rock. It is different from the typical grrrrl rock with Jesse adding a bit of testosterone and grit to the mix. There are some really kick-ass songs on here with my favorite being “Close Encounters�. So get past all of the tongue action on the cover and dive right into Operation Makeout. It is good Canadian indie punk at its best.
