Lushlife could also go synonomous with Nightlife. This is the perfect album for kicking back late at night with all the lights out and looking out of your condo window at all the traffic below. The whisper of vocalist, Martha Schwendener, just gives you enough volume in order to make out what she is singing. In the meantime Lawrence Chandler has things under control with all the beats and rhythms driving away in the background (foreground). I must repeat a quote from the Wire "Bowery Electric is grabbing rock's fingers and shoving them into the socket of the next millennium". I think that sums up what Bowery Electric are all about. It's time to move on people - we can't live in the past.
