While by no means groundbreaking, Prevent Falls do provide an interesting emo ride on the Equal Vision debut, A Newer More Shattered You. This New Jersey based foursome has been around since 1998 and all the members were just starting high school. The first true track (there is a 15 second intro) is entitled “K Consumption� and you start to get an idea of the energy of this band. Like former labelmates, Saves The Day, Prevent Falls is a high dose of the melodic vocals and guitar riffs but don’t let down your guard because there is plenty of hard hitting riffs and yells that will crush the uninitiated. For the group being so young, they do have a mature songwriting process down already. This is a band that was obviously raised on Quicksand but toned it down in order to fit into the emo-core arena. Prevent Falls would be a great addition to the Warped Tour line-up.
