I think Q and not U win on both strangest band name as well as strangest album title. When it comes to music though, Q is one of the hottest bands to come out of the DC area in quite sometime. Being born and bred on such bands as Jawbox and Fugazi you can see where Q is going to take you. Although at times, the band is a bit stereotypical in its DC sound but when Q and not U start to roll things out you start to see that the foursome is taking that sound just one step further. They add even more dynamics to the sound and have no problem getting away with a quiet song. The band thunders and roars at times and then right around the corner you get a mellow yet experimental section of music. There is more light noodling than complete rocking out with power chords like a typical punk band. You sit back and listen and you can still here the blatant musical referrals to their idols but then you have to understand that this is only their debut. Q and not U still has to find itself amongst all their influences. And No Kill No Beep Beep is a great start.
