Streetpunk seems to have a bad name these days. I don't know why. Most street punk bands are the best punk rock has to offer at the moment, so really, what's with the complaining? Yeah, a lot of the bands have the cliche punk 'look' (spikey hair, patched up jackets) but hey, that's because it's fun to make stuff like that. Haha. I have a patched up jacket myself. Anyway, on to the actual album. I was a little wary upon buying this, as Vice Squad haven't made a good album since 'No Cause For Concern' back in the mid 80's, so I didn't know what to expect at all. I mean, after your band has been releasing sucky albums for almost 20 years, it is really hard to actually come up with something good. Well, this band managed to. I don't know how, I really don't, but hey. Shit happens, right? The songs are the catchy oi! and street you'd expect from these guys...and...er...girl. Such songs as 'Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down' and 'Spitfire' are great moshin' tunes, as is the rest of the album. The entirity of this CD is made up of the catchy street/oi formula. Anthemy & catchy lyrics, shout along choruses. Oh, and Beki's vocals are alot better and alot more passionate than on previous releases. It actually sounds like she was into the music this time. For the last few CDs, it's been almost as if she's just here to hang on to the little bit of a career she's got left, but now, she's finally got that fire she had back in the 80's back and I'm happy. This is definitely worth the money for fans of Vice Squad's old stuff. They're finally great again. Thank God! I gotta catch 'em live sometime.
