I have to admit that I haven't been the most devout Sepultura fan in the world. I kind of lost touch with the band when they parted ways with Roadrunner Records. I've missed out on supposed brilliant albums like Roorback but I'm back now and the band is back too with their fourth album since Max Cavalera left the band to form Soulfly. Derrick Green is doing a great job and the tracks on prove that easily. While roughly based around Dante Alighieiri's The Divine Comedy, Green and Igor Cavalera have come up with some bludgeoning metal. Tracks like "Buried Wounds" really stand out as some of Sepultura's finest work. Green doesn't quite have the growl that Max had but he still proves himself a worthy metal vocalist. Impressive. Some of the songs like "Nuclear Seven" take some of that rhythmic trudging and manage to create a very listenable song that resembles a march. But the sheer fury comes out on "Crown And Miter", Dante's finest moment. "False" is another great track with some clever guitar riffs leading the way of this monstrosity. Metal fans need to seek out this Sepultura album.
