Rancid aren't here to change anything in the punk world. If anything they might be considered revivalists of classic punk. Even though, with that being said, they still seem fresher than most punk coming out these days. Is it because they put their heart and soul into their music or maybe because they have been doing the punk thing for many years (most of the band used to be in Operation Ivy). No matter, this album is one of their strongest yet with it's full on punk stylings. Owing more than just a little nod to the Clash and the Sex Pistols they make their brand of punk relevant in the year 2000. Check out their new anthem "Radio Havana" that just begs fans to chant along with the band. They may have picked up the speed a bit but Rancid still have all the essential hooks to keep you in place.
