While Sectorseven is not one of those revolutionary bands that make people look at the style of music differently, they are still relevant. Their music is fast and furious and their hardcore ideas makes for a powerful Canadian punk band. Sectorseven’s previous album, Dual was their two out of print EPs tossed onto one album. I had mentioned in that review that the production was crap. On their self-titled debut, they have hired Joe Vaughn who was responsible for Kittie’s harsh sound to bring up that quality. Joe succeeds in a crisp and heavy affair, providing crystal clear machine gun like riffs and razor sharp lyrics. The band is pretty stoked at a new beginning. They are now a four-piece, losing their friend Ryan Allan. The band is focused and their music is sounding more polished than ever. Kind of along the lines of fellow Canadian’s Grade but a little harsher and enjoy more of a sing-along chorus. I don’t expect this band to be the next big thing but hardcore enthusiasts will eat Sectorseven up.
