Euphoria by Echo Screen was released late November on indie label Rock out Records. Based in New Jersey Echo Screen is comprised of four members (2 guitars, bass, and drummer). While not trying to create anything new the band sticks to their roots and manages to create an exceptional album.
Featuring ten tracks the album boasts the unique ability to never lend itself to heavy runs. The whole record starts and ends seamlessly and manages to mix things up just enough from track to track to keep the listener intrigued. "This Letter Bomb" is the opening track, and lead single, and manages to embody what the band is: hook, drive, and emotion.
While the track listing may appear short (a few tracks short of the standard album) the disc never once bows under three minutes so you are still receiving a good 50+ minute record...and every second is worth your time.
If you're of the mind to listen to dark but up beat album you should go ahead and give Euphoria a spin. Your world won't be changed but I can promise that you'll hear a great new take on a tired genre.
Standout Tracks:
- Letter Bomb
- Gloria
- Pearly Gates Part II "Our Fears"
