This debut album by California's emo-punk outfit Staring Back shows great potential for a young band. After a successful ep for Lobster Records Staring Back follows up with the full length Many Will Play. Not quite sure where they fit in, either hardcore or emo, both style lend to their overall sound and it's nice not to have a full length of all the same stuff. With the first listen nothing grabbed my attention but when I return to listen a second time I was able to understand where they were coming from and I fully enjoyed this album. Sounding quite a bit like east coasts Saves the Day only with a little heavier sound. Staring Back are looking forward from this album onward.
