This album is outstanding. The best cover album since Slayer's Undisputed album. The songs on the album just blend together like two interstates blending together. .
I'm not sure I've heard of such a diverse grouping of songs on one album. It just shows the talent of the band and how they can perform any type of music. Among the diversity? Maggie's farm by Bob dylan, EPMD's "I'm housin", Minor Threats "In my eyes", "Street fighting man" by the rolling stones, "Pistol Grip Pump" by Cypress Hill.
The basswork is incredible. Every song I find myself tapping my foot and boppin my head to. Classic Tom Morello guitar riffs and outstanding rhythmic beats. Add to that Zak D's impressive vocals and you have a refreshing mix of music. Even if you hate the originals, you end up listening to them because of the way Rage puts them together.
The sad thing is "renegades of funk" got all the recognition. Maggies Farm, originally performed by Dyaln just makes you dislike the character Maggie. Rage makes it so intense that you despise Maggies Pa and Maggies Ma. It makes you think of every corporation you've ever worked for and just thank god that you had this album to get you through the day.
Rage once again proves that you can rip and tear through a great grouping of songs, but add a twist that makes them that much better. It's classic rage, only the songs were written for them. I love the creativity of this band. I wish they were still around and putting together music, and I'm thankful that they once existed. Nobody else can put together an album with tracks that range from classic rap to hardcore punk, and still do it with style that we all know as Rage is capable of. Outstanding album, gutterseed approved.
