Sounds like the lovechild of Morrisey and Les Negresses Vertes (and this is a GOOD thing), if you like this you should listen to the latter.

This EP is really amazing. I just have to say that first, before anything else. It's a great follow up to Gulag Orkestar, and a wonderful prelude to The Flying Club Cup. The highlight of this work would be "Elephant Gun," which strays away from the usual "beer-hall" sound that Beirut usually sticks to. But if that's what draws you in, there's "Carousel," and "The Long Island Sound," which both have that familiar brassy-ness that is evident in the first album. If you're not into buying the whole EP, download "Scenic World," a beautiful remix of the song of the same name from Gulag Orkestar. Zac Condon's lyrics, although lacking, are overshadowed by his syrupy, genuine voice. Buy it.

I can't get into Beirut. Although I've only heard Gulag Orkestar. I might have to check in and try them out again.

I'm really loving this EP. "Elephant Gun" is a tremendous opener, and the instrumentals make me think of a reunited Neutral Milk Hotel. Unorthodox vocals over a variety of instruments creates this cohesive little gem of an EP, and reveals the incredible potential of this indie-band slowly amassing popularity.
