In a male dominated punk world there is a band that stands out with a female vocalist. If you are involved with the punk world the name Cinder Block will get you thinking about Tilt, one of the scene’s most appreciated female fronted punk bands. For die-hard Tilt fans the band has released Been Where? Did What?, which is a collection of demos and unreleased material. If you have never heard Tilt then you might want to start out with Viewers Like You or ‘Til It Kills rather than this rarities collection. Cinder Block and the rest of her band are able to incorporate punk hooks and pop melodies into their music and have a cute female vocalist blasting through the lyrics. There are a couple of cool covers on this album; “Where in the world is Carmen San Diego?� and “Theme from the Dukes of Hazzard (Good Ol Boys)�. In all intents and purposes, Tilt is meaning this album to get into their hardcore fans hands rather than the casual Tilt listener. There are some good tracks here but Tilt fans are the target market here.
