Given the broad and diverse material that Alice Cooper has there is something for everyone. Really. Vincent Furnier has been at the shock-rock thing for almost 40 years and he is still going strong. Looking back the obvious favorites are Love It To Death, Killer, School's Out and Billion Dollar Babies, all albums that he did with the band Alice Cooper but when the band dissolved Alice was up to do whatever it was that he wanted. He started the freakshow. Oh yeah, Welcome To My Nightmare was an album that was meant for touring. Of course I never saw it but it was a tour of legends.

As for the music, the only "hit" that Cooper found on the Nightmare was the ballad "Only Women Bleed". It's a great album that has easy appeal. The album still did fairly well and I would think it had a lot to do with the tour.

I quite enjoy "Department Of Youth". It has that fun, sing-along feel to it. The next track, "Cold Ethyl", is a great rocker too. Yes, that is the also creepy Vincent Price on "Devils Food". His voice always adds a horror element that no vocalist could rival. "Years Ago" is almost as creepy with the harpsichord and an eerie Alice singing along.

I think a lot of people who have just had a brush with Alice will be very surprised at the listenablity of Welcome To My Nightmare. It goes down easy and offers some great rewards for those willing to take a chance.
