Atrocious. Just like every other NoMeansNo album I've heard. This album really makes me wish punk bands would return to their 1:30 songs. They always seemed to be able to keep their focus and power when the songs were short. Track 1- Wake Up I'm guessing this is a call to remove consumerism from our lives? Yeah, I'd say that's what this. The only problem is that this song is antagonistic and accusatory but it doesn't even offer any solutions or other routes for the people they appear to be calling ignorant conformists. If we're ignorant, inform us of some other options! Mobilize! Don't just bitch and moan! Track 2- In Her Eyes More bitching and moaning but this time the subject is about how the protagonist's mother doesn't appreciate him and feels he's a problem child. Boo hoo. Track 3- Mr. In Between I'm guessing by the title that this song is bitching and moaning about indecisiveness? The lyrics were pretty unclear. Oh, and by the way, the lil rock n' roll solo at the end seemed to be pretty original. Psyche! (when was the last time you heard someone say "Psyche"?) Track 4- I See A Mansion In the Sky "How much wood would a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? How much good would a good man do if a good man could do good? [incoherent mumbling]" Is this a joke? Track 5- Ashes Alright, I got about a minute into this song and decided that I wouldn't torture myself any longer, not even for your sake my faithful reader. So, if you manage to make it through this album and find a good punk song, let me know.
