As the story goes, the members of HORSE the band dropped halfway through their Stampeding Machines tour because whilst in Chicago they ate the most divine of pizza’s, a pizza so good they felt inspired to write and play music quite unlike the world had ever seen. After debating staying in Chicago eating pizza for all eternity they decided instead to drive home and write a 5 track EP in homage to that succulent night. “God was there” as they so put it. So not only do they have a sense of humor, but HORSE break out the energetic, heavy keyboard work and hilarious lyrics again. Finishing off with their own take on “T.M.N.T” this isn’t exactly something to be taken too seriously yet remains a great success amongst HORSE fans wide and far.

If you don't approve of an air of comedy in your metal, this band is most likely not for you. Often dubbed "Nintendocore" by fans and critics, HORSE began as a joke that most people found both funny and, oddly enough, aurally pleasing. The "Nintentocore" tag comes from the 8-bit bleeps and blips that constantly stream from the keyboard. "Pizza" is an enjoyable little EP, and obviously is themed around the uberpopular bread-based food item. "Anti-Pizza" opens with a fury, featuring some fine (as usual) keyboard work and a crushing level of heaviness. Always a surprise from a band of this comedic nature is the level of skill found in the songwriting and playing. This is a HORSE of a different color.
