The Stooges are legendary. Punk rockers, metal-heads, scenesters, whatever you are you should know them. Love 'em or hate 'em you can't deny that they revolutionized the way that punk rock is played.
Iggy and company are back with The Weirdness. A release that came as quite a suprise to fans, and honestly, it sounds like they threw the entire album together in a month or two. But thats what makes it so damn good. Punk rock is not supposed to be the over polished, well thought out machine that it is today. Punk is about having fun and the big fuck you to everyone that doesn't get it. And Iggy gives the finger with pride on every track of this brilliant release.
Cheesy lyrics and cliche guitar riffs drive the main theme of this album in classic Stooges form and I find it quite funny that a man in his late fiftys that looks like he has been through a meat dehidrator, can write such beautifully thrashy songs better than most of the punk rock icons today.
We should all take example from Mr. Iggy Pop. Even if you are old, you can still kick ass.
