I wont deny that coming into this review I was a little skeptical, I had heard this band before and hadn't liked what I heard. On Every Second Counts, it seems like the Plain White T's can't decide what they should sound like. Heavy riffs and harsh lyrics collide with soaring melodies and infectious hooks. Sounds like the perfect album, right? Not really. The album strongly lacks consistancy, or even a trade mark sound that makes a band memorable. A few songs remind me of the glory days of 50's doo wop, which may not be a bad thing if it were done well, but instead they are a mild form of torture to stomach.
My suggestion to the band is to find a signature sound, and let me know when you actually make every second count.
