You may recall the name Rhys Fulber as a member of both Delerium and Front Line Assembly. He has also produced many albums and gained a lot of respect in the music industry. Now he is about to embark on his own journey as Conjure One. If you like what he did with Delerium, you will be overjoyed at where he is going with Conjure One. If you were into the Front Line Assembly stuff, you may have to wait for the next Nine Inch Nails to get your fullfillment. Conjure One is almost exactly what Delerium was only with more world beat sounds. There are East Indian beats and rhythms as well as some Mediteranean styles. He uses many female vocalists including Sinead O’Connor on the best track she has been on in a while (“Tears From The Moon). Poe lends her writing skills as well as her voice to “Center of the Sun and “Make A Wish. The Tea Party’s Jeff Martin sings on “Premonition (Reprise) and really brings out the best. Marie-Claire D’Ubaldo’s beautiful voice is used throughout the album and peaking on “Sleep. A lady that goes by the name Chemda provides the beautiful Middle Eastern singing on a couple of tracks too. Don’t look to Conjure One for an important album. Instead look to it to provide relaxation and comfort in knowing not everything needs to be cutting edge.
