Brace Yourself For The Mediocre.....I couldn't have summed it up any better than myself. Roper, featuring members of Divit and Five Iron Frenzy, claims to be pop-punk but to me it sounds more like My Chemical Romance listening to HelloGoodbye. Now a-days, pop-punk is a relative term I know, but there is nothing pop-punk about Roper.
The song Your With Stupid blares with all its emo-pop glory with a chorus consisting of, "You're the one breaking all the hearts. You're with stupid." Lyrics like that make me think that this band doesn't take itself seriously and I am strongly inclined to advise you not to either. I wasn't a bit suprised to find that this was released by EMI, a label that prides itself on signing "mediocre" bands. Don't tread to lightly when considering spending hard earned cash on this, because after a few tracks your ears may bleed.
Roper was right to warn us with this beautifully named release, because in truth, the mediocre has arrived.
