Although Tim's best work was previous to his signing to Columbia this collection does a great job of finding the gems of the Columbia period. Many songwriters have found inspiration through Tim Hardin's work, not just his songwriting but his interpretation of others music as well. And although I'm sure that Tim made more cashola from other artists covering his songs this collection stands as a testament of what a great singer he was too. Songs include Leonard Cohen's "Bird on a Wire" like it has never been sung before with a gospel chorus backing Tim up. There is reasons for Bob Dylan's referral to Tim as the country's greatest living songwriter. Find out why with Simple Songs of Freedom. He eventually lost his battle with drug addiction in 1980.
