Magnum - Princess Alice And The Broken Arrow
British art-rock legends return with their thirteenth release, doing the time-warp again with 11 tracks that are sure provide the soundtrack to the upcoming summer of 1973.
Synths and earnest poetry fuel "Dragons are Real" and "Be Strong," the latter a perfect anthem to those staring in the mirror and seeing only acne and a hard-on. Long-ish majestic guitar solos courtesy of Tony Clarkin enhance the keyboard work of Mark Stanway. This type of ELP, Asia-like bombast has never really died in Europe, so it will probably do well. Here, it might be a tougher sell, cynical bastards are we. If you think "The Final Countdown" is deep, you’ll dig this. If not, walk on by.
