Tad - 8-Way Santa
Oh Tad, where are you today? If Mudhoney is still going today then Tad Doyle should be too. People attributed grunge to the wrong people. Tad was a major influencer with this album. 8-Way Santa was a classic the minute they pulled the original artwork (a random pick with someone copping a feel of a teen girl). Anyway, the music supports such claims starting out with the driving "Jinx". But "Giant Killer" is where the 'classic' comes out. Even 16 years later is still a fun song. "Flame Tavern" rocks out like no one ever did in the Seattle scene back then. But the party really doesn't get started until "Jack Pepsi", apparently some legal issues once again with the beloved Jack Daniels.
Anyway, if you haven't heard of Tad give this a shot. One listen should allow you to decide if this large rocker of yesteryear is for you or not.
