These four tracks are unearthed gems from the band that would become Sleep. Members of Asbestos Death also made their way into OM and High on Fire as well. The tunes are a bit crustier than those sludge masters, but this is more than an artifact. "Nail," "Scourge," "Anguish," and "The Suffering" (no, those are not the secret names of your Congressmen) burn and aim with a majesty all their own, though there are more than enough hints in them of what was to come in those later bands. This EP can stand on its own with any subsequent releases by these guys. Massive and minimal, this is already the sound of a band that knows exactly what it is doing, and who it wants to take along for the trip.
