RecommendArab Strap's music is far from happy. So if your looking for a good time party album go back to the rock section and pick another review. If your into slow melancholy tunes about love and anti-love then you are in the right spot. A listen to an Arab Strap album is a glimpse inside the two members lives and what you are about to see sure ain't pretty. The topics of most of the songs are about failed love and analyzing the implications. Arab Strap are masters at minimalization as well, with little more than a drum machine and a few strings the band is quite capable of getting their dire message across. You can sense the emotional frustration in the vocals and the soothing arrangements keep everything and everyone composed. Love can be a good or bad emotion and you never know until you've tried.
