You know what to expect from these legends: angry two or three chord hardcore, with a nod to the melodic that have made them the proto-type for many a lesser band. So each release by these guys is gravy, an extra slab of icing on long proven tasty cake. That is not to say that a new Pro-Pain is an excuse to wax romantic on the past; this set is as full on and inspired as any of their records. The closing tune, "Live Free (or die trying) is as close to a theme song as you can come for these guys. "Pigs in Clover" and "Impeach, Indict, Imprison" gives you an idea of where they stand politically, just in case you neocons though that the band’s name made them some kind of supporters of Guantanamo. "The New Reality" points to focusing rage where it belongs, and on trying to live as free as possible in a world where the sheep and the lions are winning, with us in the middle. Be daring and play this in public any chance you get.
