Step aside Dar; the new female folkie is here to take over the throne. Claire Holley comes to grace our ears from Jackson, Mississippi and has a voice like an angel. She mixes her influences such as folk, pop, country and soul to create a find product in her songs. This is, in fact, Claire’s third proper album and her first for the diverse Yep Roc label. It also shows a singer / songwriter blossoming into something one could only call magical. Her music reaches into your heart and nestles into your subconscious mind. When you have stopped listening to the album you find yourself reaching for the play button again. She has a very fragile voice at times but she has no problem increasing the strength where needed. Claire credits her parents for giving her the diverse influences that she received as well as the encouragement to fulfill her dream of making music. Performing in the coffee shop circuit perfected her style. Now she is out to bring her music to a larger audience. She deserves to be heard.
