This record from start to finish is a masterpiece. Easily my favorite discovery of 2005. Intelligent and beautiful post-hardcore. Unfortunately neither The Dear Hunter nor The Receiving End of Sirens have been able to top this release

Without the lead singer, TREOS does lack, but they did have Casey in this album, and it was an amazing release. I like this album because its full of meaningful lyrics, and powerful guitar parts. I think it could potentially open you to a world of music you might not have know you were even into. These guys can change your outlook on music genre's. I would recommend anyone to have a listen to this band and pick up this album. Even if you think you might not like it, stream it on purevolume and give it a chance.

Oooh... what do we have here? Quick, deep breaths. Nice review...Will have a listen and come back to rate.

I'm back...not bad...A bit generic for me but "Planning a Prison Break" had a good kick to it.

The Receiving End of Sirens, signed to Triple Crown records, brings a lot of new and original ideas to the table with their debut Between the Heart and the Synapse. The record is fueled by pounding drum beats and layered vocals that range from almost- unintelligible screams to whispers. Polyrhythm’s riddle the album, the three guitars conflicting with each other, the layered vocals, and the drums. Songs like The Rival Cycle and Flee the Factory feature lyrics that most bands on the scene wouldn’t even attempt. One of the most astounding and original parts of the album are the synthesizer powered interludes between each song, and also included in an “Intermission”.

Overall, the music is a few steps above the par that is typical post-hardcore. What gives TREOS an edge is the outstanding lyrics, layered sounds, and creative use of synthesizers.
