Liars don't give a fuck. Therefore it's important that, as a reviewer and avid Liars fan, I don't either.
Listen to this album, and every Liars album for that matter, as an experience.
Because if you listen to them like albums you'll probably just get pissed off.
But that's the point! This band instills fear! They're really really good at it. I feel like it would probably give them satisfaction to find out that listening to their music scared the crap out of you.
Drum's Not Dead steers away from the more abrasive, cultish sound of their other stuff, but it succeeds at what feels like a more internal anxiety. It's an emotional journey where you don't really know what to feel. Self doubt, anger, frustration with the anger of self doubt. It's all in there and it's all awesome.
