Yup, he's dead but let's not forget about all the great music Mr. Kimbrough has made available to us, the blues buying public. If it wasn't for him and his juke joint in Mississippi we wouldn't have heard the likes of RL Burnside, Asie Payton, and all the artists that were influenced by all this great stuff. Meet me in the city predates any of the releases on Fat Possum and is as raw and unproduced as anything that has ever come out on the label. Most of the tracks were recorded right in Junior's home. If you miss the raw intensity of most of today's blues try out Meet Me In The City for some good feeling soulful blues.
