RecommendWhen I first listened to Midnight Vultures I was so disappointed. I realized my error after repeated listens. I was expecting Odelay. As most Beck fans know you don't come to expect anything from Mr. Hansen. If you do you end up unsatisfied like me. This is a funk album ala Beck style with his cut and paste pastich. If you enjoyed Mutations like I did and were expecting a down home sort of folk album then walk away fast. Accept Beck for what he is, non-consistent. He has created a party album for the new millenium or at least for the New Years party coming up. A funk album the way Prince has imagined. Sexy and full of loaded lines. Watch out everyone, Beck is on the prowl for a lover and has made the soundtrack to go along with his adventures.
