Honestly, it’s nothing that wasn’t done back in ’96 with the compilation “The In Sound from Way Out”. In fact, I like that one a lot better. I love me a wah peddle. This album is just lacking in so many places. Where’s the funk? Where’s the soul? It’s a rather repetitive, boring excuse for an instrumental album. Sorry to sound blunt, I really did want to love this, but this sounds more like elevator muzak to me. Which saddens me, because “The In Sound From Way Out” was a jewel. If anyone was as disappointed as I was with this, I urge you to seek out that compilation. It’s so groovy, I’m sure you’ll agree with me they achieved back then what they failed miserably here.

Anyone heard The Mix-Up yet? I've sampled a few tracks off of iTunes and it sounds pretty groovy. I know everyone has been eager for this instrumental Beastie Boys album.
