Whimsical, rhythmic beats fill this unconventional electronic album, which coalesces post-rock and techno, creating catchy, hard-hitting guitar and keyboard riffs that constantly weave in and out from song to song. The tracks on Battles' Mirrored are climatic and sometimes intentionally repetitive, culminating to explosive crescendos where the robotic vocals of Tyondai Braxton frenetically shout this inane gibberish that is surprisingly addicting and extraordinarily produced. From "Atlas," which epitomizes the frenzied, animated sounding vocals, to "Ddiamondd," which has a mind-blowing keyboard riff, this album will make your head spin and jaw drop. Mirrored is such a unique release and is exceptionally recorded; I highly recommend this album to anyone that can handle (predominantly) wordless music.
