Biffy Clyro is a fairly new band coming to our shores from Glasgow, Scotland and have been getting loads of mixed press. Some critics complain that Biffy Clyro relies too much on the grunge style but I beg to differ. Biffy Clyro's style fits more into the emo area than anything else. They have the loud quiet pop thing down pat and demonstrate it well on Blackened Sky. If I would have to compare the band to anyone it would be the brilliant Hum. They do have a ways to go before they ever reach the genius of that band but they have a few kickers on the album. Take "Justboy" for instance, it starts out with chaotic guitar bursts and quiets right down to a whisper, only to come back and caress you with a very catchy bridge. One great thing about the band is that all three members take turns at vocal duties. Biffy Clyro is a young band and have a bright future ahead of them.
