RecommendSomeone Good is a new Aussie label (affiliated with Room40) looking to make friends. What better way to begin than by putting out a compilation of bands they’ve met and befriended through MySpace? You knew someone was going to get this idea, and it is a good one.
A nice mx of ambient drone with noisier fare, the set relies heavily on Japanese acts for its best offerings, particularly Shugo Tokamura ("Wedding"), " Akira Kosemura ("Enough Grace") and Midori Hirano ("Cells That Smell Sounds"). They have a few other new releases that sound good too, so dig in. Now, what are you going to do with your hundred or so friends on MySpace who you’ve barely even contacted?
