Bird3 almost slipped by me last year with nary a notice. Bird3 is a trio (hence the 3) led by an individual that goes by the name Bird (clever eh?). They pump out some of the best commercial rock (too bad they don’t have major label support otherwise they would erupt) to ever hit these critical ears. Songs stick in your head while you crave more and more. Bird3 is a welcome addition to the pop-rock world that hasn’t seen that much originality in years. The closest thing I can think of is a cross between the Foo Fighters and the Gin Blossoms–an edgier Gin Blossoms or a bit more melodic and mellow Foo Fighters. They have quite a knack for the songwriting process and an ear for a big hook. Bird has a great voice while the rest of the band provides a very large sound for having just 3 of them. They have enlisted Nick DiDia (Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots) to produce their debut and it proves to be a wise choice. Don’t let this one pass you by like it almost did me. With enough support we might just see Bird3 hit the modern rock radio charts.
