The reason I know the name Aaron Booth is from late 90’s artsy band Shecke Forme. I wasn’t quite prepared for the fragile sounds that Aaron creates on Transparent. This album is a gentle and sweet affair that coaxes you in. Aaron is originally from Calgary but has recently relocated to the Toronto area in hopes of bigger and better things. He has already hooked up with the Wooden Stars crew. As well as having some of that bands members playing on the album, he managed to get Dave Draves, the Wooden Stars and Julie Doiron producer, to produce Transparent. Booth is able to weave through a fairly diverse album that touches the heart and reminds me of many different artists along the way. Transparent is an album that deserves some recognition in it’s gentleness while staying away from the cheese factor. It’s been a long time since someone was able to pull it off. Let’s hope that Aaron Booth gets his recognition with Transparent.
