If you don't like a singer's voice, it's hard to get past that. Also listening to it now, it could seem a little dated. I personally think The Doors are timeless, but I can see some listeners being turned off by it. I always thought Tool was more comparable to like a heavy metal version of Pink Flyod with their experimentation and stuff. I read somewhwere (I wish I can remeber where) that Tool was Radiohead for metalheads or satanists-lol- I can kinda see that reference even though the bands don't sound alike.

I've tried to like this band, I really did. But, their music is just so boring and it doesn't really go anywhere. This band is, in my opinion, the Tool of 1960's. Now, that means that they have obvious talent but it's hidden behind all the nonsense that they make. I actually really like their song The End. But that's really the only glimmer of hope this band ever showed to me. Jim Morrison's voice is a real problem for me. It's almost always the same tone. Nothing wrong with that but I like singers that REALLY use their voice. Another thing I hate about the Doors is their keyboardist. I really hate the sound he makes. The start of Light My Fire is cringe worthy to me. This is a really good album, but, not for me.
